Job Title: Part-Time Bookkeeper (Contract)

Job Overview: We are seeking a passionate and detail-oriented Bookkeeper on a contract basis. Reporting to the WORTH Executive Director and working alongside the Operations Manager, Board members and contractors, this position will be instrumental in supporting the organization's growth. The Bookkeeper will be responsible for overseeing all financial activities, ensuring accurate financial records, and assisting with budgeting and reporting. This position is ideal for someone looking to contribute to a mission-driven organization with minimal time commitment each month.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage and maintain financial records, including accounts payable and receivable.
Oversee monthly reconciliations of bank accounts and financial transactions.
Prepare and present monthly financial statements to the board of directors.
Monitor and track the organization’s budget, flagging any discrepancies.
Ensure compliance with nonprofit accounting standards and legal requirements.
Assist in the preparation of annual tax filings.
Maintain and update records of donations, grants, and fundraising activities.
Provide financial insights and advice to improve organizational decision-making.
Process payroll and oversee expense reimbursements.
Assist with invoicing and sponsor stewardship.
Collaborate for grant reporting requirements.
Qualifications:
Proven experience in bookkeeping, preferably within a nonprofit organization.
Demonstrated Quickbooks software experience.
Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Excellent communication skills and ability to explain financial concepts to non-financial team members.
Prior experience working with small organizations is a plus.
Contract Details: $40 per hour, 6-8 hours a month, with additional hours during peak event periods
